Join Us for a Docent-Led Tour of
“Can She Do It?” Massachusetts Debates a Woman’s Right to Vote
AT THE MASSACHUSETTS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
1154 BOYLSTON STREET, BOSTON 02215
The exhibition explores the activism and debate around women’s suffrage in Massachusetts. Featuring items from the MHS collection, it illustrates in dynamic imagery the passion that surrounded both sides of the suffrage question. The 19th Amendment to the US Constitution, which gave the women the right to vote, was submitted to the states for ratification in 1919, ratified by three-fourths of the states, and adopted in August 1920. Come discover Massachusetts history on our right to vote!
