Docent-led Walking Tour of Seasonal Highlights
The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University is a National Historic Landmark located in the Jamaica Plain and Roslindale sections of Boston. Established in 1872, the Arboretum was planned and designed in collaboration with Frederick Law Olmstead. It is the second largest “link” in the Emerald Necklace, a chain of parks connected by parkways and waterways in Boston and Brookline. Founded as a public-private partnership between the City of Boston and Harvard University, Arnold Arboretum is a unique blend of respected research institution and beloved public park. Occupying 281 acres, the Arboretum’s living collection of trees, shrubs and woody vines is recognized as one of the most comprehensive and best documented of its kind in the world. The Arboretum is an international center for the study of plants, and a premier destination for deepening understanding and appreciation for plants, horticulture and biodiversity. Tour will be held outdoors, rain or shine. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress accordingly if weather conditions are less than ideal.
